All,
We had a lively and stimulating discussion as always this month. Important announcements:
1) We are going to take a "spring/summer break" and skip the June meeting. Lots of folks are busy right now. So....
2) Our next meeting will be July 9.
3) Rick is selling his house, so he is stepping further away from running this group. Don't worry, he's not leaving us, just stepping away from management duties. We offered this "plum job" to Larry, and his answer was "Sure, if there's no work involved". So we will attempt to break him in slowly. Meanwhile, you're stuck with Yours Truly, for now.
4) Book(s) of the month(s) are:
"An Oklahoma I had never Seen Before"
There are 6 copies available from the Metro LIbrary system, so here is the link:

We also offer a couple of alternatives, for the eager beavers out there: This one was authored by our own member John Thomspon. Unfortunately, the library has only two copies,
but it's also a book about OK history, so it would make a great companion to our choice above.
The link to it is here:

Another book that caught our eye, was suggested by Bill:
"Careless People" (see photo below)
The library has lots of copies of this one, but it's a new-ish book, so we decided to wait a bit.

And this one, suggested by Rick. Looks great. But the same problem here, is that it's so new, we decided to hold off for a bit:
Plus, everybody may be getting "fascism fatigue" by now. (but of course, we will probably have to return to this subject later, like it or not........)
"Prequel: an American Fight Against Fascism" by Rachel Maddow (photo below)
